Forum Activity

Postby ashhq on Sun Jan 21, 2018 12:53 pm

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that our European tour is going really well, better even, than recent tours with a far greater percentage of sold out shows so please kindly check the ticket availability before turning up at the venues.

I note that several of our regular forum members, quite rightly, are bemoaning the lack of forum activity and from that surmising that the band / fan activity is in decline. It's actually quite the opposite, as Georgie Girl rightly says. This site is over 20 years old and getting a bit creaky, especially in relation to the mechanics of the forums. We get hacked a LOT. In addition, Facebook is such an easy means for us and fans to communicate quickly. Our dedicated FB site is Wishbone Ash. It has 68,000 friends. There are other more fan organised sites like Friends Of Wishbone Ash or WISHBONE ASH but the Wishbone Ash site has posts from the band and up to date news on shows and so on.

We also are active on Twitter and Instagram - Wishboneashofficial - and it's now just the way of the world that we have to be involved in all these formats. In fact, Kate Goldsmith our PR person is making it a regular part of her work to ensure that all these platforms will be kept current. Tomorrow I'll be writing a blog on current activities from my perspective - we have some good, interesting things coming down the 'pike, as they say. As for now, we have one more show in Holland and then we're back into Germany. The Doris Brendell Band is doing an excellent job opening our shows and both she and Lee Dunham are also joining us during our set, supplying excellent backing vocals.

More later ~ A.P.

Thanks for posting your perspective on the Forum Andy. I realize that the newer platforms are the current "way of the world" but I'm resisting being part of it. Got my tickets for Melbourne FL so we will see you guys then. Thanks for making Florida part of the tour now that we are back here from living in Denver for a couple of years where we were able to see a couple of shows at the Soiled Dove. Corza

Hello fans,

The long awaited "Ash Stoner Tunes" will soon return back to the forum. The stoner listing is an historic piece of Wishbone's history as it was first introduced to Penny Gibbons back in the early 70's. It's going to take a few smoking Friday nights to piece it all together so get ready for it's long overdue release.

I have no idea what this is about, but count me in, and not only Friday nights, as it is now legal here in Nevada for recreational use.

I’m not in the social media world either, so most of my Wishbone Ash information comes from this site. I just wanted everyone on here to know that I attended the first two shows of the U.S. tour in Rocky Mount, VA and Charlotte, NC, and the band is in fine form. I thought both shows were outstanding. Mark Abrahams was a very solid choice to replace the departed Muddy. Andy and Mark sound like they have been playing together for many years rather than only a few months. Two very impressive performances!
