Reunion of sorts

Doubtless some of you will have seen the reunion picture posted by a former bass player. They're formally dressed in the City of London so I'm guessing outside court.

Anyone know the story?

I heard that mt took his tie back to the shop ,as it was too tight.! but the wee darville said, just pretend its your leash.! good pic of a few ex members of Wishbone Ash ,who at a pinch might combine their years of membership and get quite close to the tenure of the One and Only Andy Powell.!But then again they had more important projects when they" left" the Band.! wheres me Donkey.!? its walking the reeperbahn mon ami. cheers.dave.c.

Oh Dear

The most painful thing for me is to see ex-members who I admire greatly, turn out for Martin when they have made ABSOLUTELY no contribution to Wishbone Ash for a multitude of years

Martin has made NO new recordings under his Wishbone Ash guise and to my knowledge has written nothing since Walking Down The Repabahn which unfortunately was a real dud and the style of music in that album owed nothing at all to the memory of Wishbone Ash.

I see BOTH bands , I have NO axe to grind , but I have to say that without Andy the name would be dead, non-existent, just a memory of a glorious band in a period of history.

The body of work that Andy has produced since 'the last person standing' left has been immense and categorized by albums that can stand up to The original cast recordings.

It would have been incredibly stressful to have been in court for both sides but more so for Andy when confronted by ex members.

Andy has carried the torch for the BRAND that is Wishbone Ash, he has cultivated the product , remained adherent to the inherent principles of melodic harmony guitar with solid melodies. He has toured relentlessly around the world and reinvigorated the BRAND and introduced it to many new fans around the world.Martin has remained adherent to the band music that was written (much by him of course) during his tenure , he plays it note for note but has done NOTHING to prolong the brand, and that situation has pertained for ALL these years that Andy has fought tooth and nail to keep the name alive with regular recordings and endless tours.

Lets hope The Judge in this case gives Andy the verdict-HE DESERVES IT !!!!!

A really heartfelt reading of the situation, Doctor. It is so saddening that it has come to this especially when you see the old photos of the band when they weren't much more than kids and what really mattered was the music. Like you, I watch both bands & enjoy them but, as you say, without Andy Powell Wishbone Ash would have been an increasingly minor footnote in classic rock history as opposed to a lean, mean touring and recording band of the 21st century whose best work may yet still be ahead of it. Even on a trivial level, AP's Flying V is one of the most tangible symbols of Wishbone Ash to diehard and casual fans alike.

I don't think there can be any winners in this sort of case only losers. That's what is so sad about it all.
