Recently had the CD Alchemist shared with me! Thank you Quadling! You are the best!
Always knew the story about how Laurie joined, but never knew how GOOD the previous band was!(don't know why I never got around to exploring it)

Sigh...so much music to discover..so little time...

I saw Home support Wishbone Ash (I think it was at the Sheffield City Hall in June 1973), and I still have Pause for a Hoarse Horse on Vinyl - last played about a month ago!!

I've had the opion tedered to me that the first 2 weren't that good.
Comments and suggestions please?
I'm always open to new music, but mediocre music not so much

The first two Home albums were a little bit in the country vein but no matter there are some classics in there
especially Dreamer and My Lady Of The Birds on the second self titled album "Home".On" Pause For A Hoarse
Horse" (their first album) you can hear many of the influences from Laurie which he would bring to Wishbone Ash
MK2.The concept album" The Alchemist" is self explanatory,but i have to listen to all of it,cant just pick out a single track.I think the band were way ahead of their time,saw them perform the Alchemist in the 70's but it was way
over peoples heads.There is a BBC live sessions album,but very difficult to get hold of.The three studio albums
have been re-mastered and are available in this country on the Esoteric Recordings Label.Unfortunately the only
two surviving members are Laurie who is now in the excellent Snakecharmer and Cliff Williams who plays bass
in AC-DC (but never mind !)Certain Laurie got the best deal.

Re Home Live BBC Sessions 1972-73 have just looked on Amazon (uk) and it is up at £69.99
so will give that a miss for the time being.I thought the Japanese Wishbone albums were overpriced
but this is ridiculous .
