Live In Paris 2015 DVD

Bought this last night at Islington.

Don't want to comment quite yet but would like to see other's views first.

I had a bit of an issue getting it to load up and I thought I'd have to send it back, which initially dampened my enthusiasm.

Now managed to get it working on my laptop and must say the audio is superb, especially through headphones. I had some reservations about the video as it looked very dark and grainy on my main DVD player, but it seems fine on the laptop.

It's a single disc package lasting 144 minutes, covering 20 songs, one of which is a complete surprise, given recent events; I won't say anymore on this. No separate internal booklet which is a little 'mean', but Muddy does the sleeve notes on the back, instead of Andy, so another surprise there.

Anyway, I think I was the first to buy one from Pauline on Saturday; at £15 it's a great investment, you won't be disappointed !!

Having seen both three gigs, I can't wait till I get a copy. But your reviews are alarming. It would be a great disappointment not to be able to read it on a DVD player.

I want to watch it on my home cinema, not on my small basic laptop !

Hope this problem will be settled before the DVD is in store.

Having spoken to colleagues here with a more technical knowledge than myself, they advise me that you usually only get about 2 hours (120 mins) on a single DVD, so maybe the files have been compressed that little bit too much in order to cram everything onto one physical disc.

Apart from loading up, over compression may affect both audio and video quality too so perhaps it needs to be reissued as a double disc set instead; I don't know how much extra that would cost to produce ? I note that the disc itself is purplish-blue as opposed to the usual silver, which seems to indicate to me that it's a rewritable disc, so maybe it's not that expensive to reissue as said double disc set.

As I stated honestly, I can now view this on my laptop. Not ideally convenient for me but at least I can play it. I genuinely didn't want this review to put anyone off buying the disc and hence affecting income for the band, which is why I was hesitant in raising the issue in the first place, but maybe it's best to try and sort it out now, if anything can be done at all.

You both are right, the problem had to be mentioned, I don't think anyone will take it as an offense. If the DVD is reissued as a double disc set, it might be a consolation for those who first bought the single to know that they own a collector.
