Celebration Day - Led Zeppelin.

What a gig to miss. I'd had bootlegs of it all for a while and the rehearsal tapes too but what a job Jimmy Page has done; he had the best of raw materials though.

The film is astonishing and only improved by the lack of extras on the discs which allows it to stand like the monument it is. From the first slam chords of Good Times Bad Times to the final drum riff from Jason Bonham on Rock 'n' Roll it just thunders along. The perfect note at the end is that the band aren't facing the crowd, but huddled round the drums because it was a personal triumph for them.

Next year a complete re-mastering of the original CDs with deluxe edition extras is on the cards; I'm so happy they can hardly count!

Joe Bonamassa live at The Beacon Theater. Great as usual but the songs with Beth Hart really impressed me. I had never heard of her before but what a voice and what a performer with her own band. Shw gives everything she has. Check out some of her stuff on Youtube it is great. Try I don't need no Doctor by Humble Pie that she covers or Whole Lotta Love. All the talent and she is SEXY as hell. I was going to say I can't believe she is not huge over here but as usual we don't care about nothing in this country except Rap and crap everybody that has any talent at all doesn't stand a chance over here.

I saw her perform on the Kennedy Center Honors in the tribute to Buddy Guy. Amazing performance of "I'd Rather Go Blind"!

While on sick leave because of removed wisdom teeth:

Parts two and three of Martin Scorsese's "The Blues".
Part 2, The Soul of a Man by Wim Wenders (about Blind Willie Johnson, Skip James, and J. B. Lenoir) and
Part 3, The Road to Memphis by Richard Pearce and Robert Gordon (about Beale Street, Memphis, Tennessee, including B. B. King, Rosco Gordon and Bobby Rush).

Wish I had a longer sick leave to see the rest of the DVDs... ;)
Best Wishes - Best Bones!

Tonight, I've just watched the new Camel live DVD "In From The Cold" recorded in London last October. Brilliant performance of tracks old and new, including the entire Snow Goose album. :D 8-)

Today I'm working my way through the 2-Disc Deluxe Edition of Panic Room's "Screens: Live In London" DVD set.

I'm loving what I've seen so far (all the extras). I've just got the main concert to watch this evening.
